Healthy Eats 101
Goals & Objectives
In this introductory nutrition class, participants will gain confidence in the kitchen by integrating and applying the principles of food and nutrition awareness.
Goals:
In class, participants will:

Improve self confidence in the kitchen, while working individually and in groups.

Learn basic recipes and develop skills to make healthy choices.

Practice independent living skills, including time management, culinary math and nutritional science in an inclusive environment.

Strengthen socialization, communication and presentation skills, while sharing their culinary work with other participants, staff and family.

Make decisions concerning nutrient claims, separating fact from fallacy

Apply the concepts of nutrition in personal food selection.
